DATA COMMUNICATION SOLUTION
New PoE Standard Boosts Surveillance Applications in Airports
Surveillance applications is getting more and more crucial nowadays. A great variety of applications on surveillance come up with new technology. Network solution are the important factors among the video surveillance. IEEE802.3bt PoE is significant of the new technology. With up to 90W power offering, it provides lots of possibility in the future.
The system integrator (SI) responsible for an airport surveillance system is faced with demands from the end customer to overcome some challenges as below:
• Low-light limitation
• High cost to extend power source to cameras
• Long distance connects to control center
• Wide temperatures
Besides indoor surveillance, outdoor surveillance of an airport is a major challenge due to low-light limitations, which can negatively impact the recognition of airplanes and people. Secondly, extending power to IP cameras can be costly, both in terms of installation and maintenance. The customer is looking for a better solution. Lastly, due to multiple gates at an airport, it can be difficult to properly monitor all areas. The large distances in an airport can present difficulties in transmitting IP camera data to the control center. To address these challenges, SI is looking for partners that offer network solutions and IP cameras. PoE technology offers a solution to meet the customer's requirements. With the standardization of PoE, the network and IP cameras can be designed to ensure compatibility.
Among the IP surveillance application, PoE (Power over Ethernet) is a momentous progress. With the evolution from IEEE802.3af/at to latest IEEE802.3bt standardized in 2018, it can power up to 90W. JetNet 5212GP which provides 4 fiber ports to achieve long distance transmission, each ethernet port can max supports 90W for PD (powered device), and total budget up to 480W, including robust enclosure and -40~75°C wide operating temperature range.
Redundancy technologies - MSR (multiple super ring)
With Beijer Electronics MSR (Multiple Super Ring), you can provide redundancy and superior flexibility for your whole network that offers unlimited redundant network expansion and is designed for use on widely distributed networks. It ensures that simple and complex networks can recover within milliseconds in the event of a connection failure.
Suitable for harsh environment
All products from Beijer Electronics are designed in industrial grade and support -40~75°C wide operating temperature. Moreover, some models even support IEEE802.3bt PoE such as JetNet 5212GP, JetNet 5216GP and JetNet 5210GP. It could link and supply power to PoE-based outdoor infrared cameras, up to 90W of power per PoE port, and support massive video and data transmissions to the central room through the fiber ports.
Why Beijer Electronics?
• Support IEEE802.3bt up to 90W PoE.
• Hi-Pot isolation protection for ports and power.
• -40~75°C wide operating temperature.
• 4 fiber ports for long-distance transmission.
• Network Redundancy – MSR (Multiple Super Ring), RSTP, MSTP.
