X3 OS3 1.4 completes DNV SP1 compliance

Beijer Electronics announces the release of OS3 version 1.4 for the X3 series HMIs.

With OS3 1.4, machine builders can achieve full DNV SP1 compliance and meet key IEC 62443 requirements at system level, without compromising usability or user experience. The result is a faster, more secure, and easier-to-manage HMI platform for modern industrial environments.

The release introduces support for USB lockdown and also makes it possible to access OS3 during startup without launching the iX application. In addition, the release includes security patches, bug fixes, and usability improvements.

A key addition is USB lockdown, which prevents new USB devices from being connected while allowing approved devices already in use to continue operating. This functionality completes the final requirement for DNV SP1 compliance.

OS3 1.4 also includes a number of operational improvements, including easier access to OS3 during startup, improved handling of branded panel names, better installation error messages, and fixes for several known issues.
